Energy monitoring at SMULDERS
The SMULDERS company, an international steel construction company, works according to the international ISO50001 standard focused on monitoring the energy consumption of an organisation. To achieve this, Energy Design developed a monitoring architecture and energy meters were installed.
International ISO standard
The international ISO50001 standard is focused specifically on monitoring the energy consumption of an organisation. It’s a standard that offers detailed insight into all aspects of energy consumption. More and more companies are realising that an energy management system results in significant savings and makes a positive contribution to the environment. In addition, certification according to ISO50001 or a similar standard like the Dutch CO 2 Performance Ladder ensures a better competitive position on the international market.
We’ve conducted a project in the context of such certification for the SMULDERS company, an international steel construction company. We developed a monitoring architecture and provided high-quality energy monitoring hardware for three Belgian locations with activities such as engineering, production and assembly of heavy, technically complex architectural steel structures.
